Bentonite Clay Arm Pit Detox

Updated: Sep 19, 2020

Why on earth would you need an armpit detox, and how can it possibly benefit you? I am glad that you asked! An armpit detox is very beneficial to your health and scent! Let’s talk about why, and then I will share a great bentonite clay armpit detox recipe with you.

Why You Need a Bentonite Clay Arm Pit Detox:

Our bodies are meant to sweat. It is a natural and necessary function. Unfortunately, the plethora of unnatural antiperspirants and deodorants on the market right now are terrible for your health!

About 95% of Americans use mainstream deodorants and antiperspirants, making it an $18 billion a year industry. It is such a huge industry because, well, simply put, no one wants to stink!

The ingredients in them should give us serious pause! These include: aluminum, phthalates, formaldehyde (a carcinogen!), propylene glycol (aka: antifreeze), parabens, pesticides, and the list goes on! And when we put these toxic ingredient on our skin, we are exposing our bodies and health to many dangerous ailments.

A few of the side effects these harmful chemicals cause are: inflammatory responses, antibiotic-resistant bacteria, thyroid dysfunction, hormone disruption (caused by the phthalates), cancer, Alzheimer’s (from the aluminum), allergies, skin irritation, weight gain, and MUCH more!

If you’ve been feeling fatigued, getting sick a lot, and/or notice your lymph nodes are tender, it could be because of a buildup from years of anti-perspirant/deodorant use.

Antiperspirants and Deodorants are also linked to Breast Cancer

It is a controversial topic, but it needs to be addressed.

Parabens are a main ingredient found in many of the unnatural antiperspirants/deodorants on the market today. Parabens (hormone disruptors) have been found in biopsied tissue with breast cancer.

About 1 in 8 US women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of their lifetime. Breast cancer death rates are higher than those for any other cancer in women (besides lung cancer) with 40,450 women expected to die this year from the disease. And, researcher want to know why!

According to one research paper, published in the Journal of Inorganic Biochemistry, “Clinical studies showing a disproportionately high incidence of breast cancer in the upper outer quadrant of the breast…provide supporting evidence for a role for locally applied cosmetic chemicals in the development of breast cancer”.

Another 2014 report clearly points specifically to aluminum in antiperspirants as the main carcinogen.

In addition to aluminum, the Breast Cancer Fund also points to other common ingredients in antiperspirants/deodorants that may also increase breast cancer risk including phthalates and parabens.

So, now you know why you should not only detox your armpits, but, you should also consider going a more natural route in eliminating unwanted armpit odor!

Bentonite Clay Arm Pit Detox Recipe:

Before I share a great recipe, you should know that switching to a natural deodorant may not work at first, or you may even notice a rash. Just stopping the use of conventional antiperspirants and deodorants after years of use is not enough. The toxins are still there lingering like an unwanted houseguest!

Doing a bentonite clay armpit detox can help. Bentonite clay has the natural ability to pull toxins from the body. This simple detox can get your bacteria back in balance, and thus help natural deodorants work better.

Not only can a bentonite clay armpit detox remove the build-up of toxins, it may also reduce the odor of your sweat.

Ok, now the recipe!
